Education Reimbursement Program

Program Purpose: 

Midwest Machinery, Co. (MMC) is committed to the development of employees and the belief that education is a lifelong process which enhances work performance, improves self-esteem, and increases career mobility within the organization.

The Education Reimbursement Program encourages and supports individuals enrolled in a post-secondary education program.

Who is Eligible?

  • Current employees wishing to expand their knowledge base
  • Students attending a 2-year certificate/degree program may apply for one or both years
  • Students attending a 4-year degree program may apply for their junior and/or senior year
  • Interested students must work at an MMC location and be sponsored by a manager

What Type of Coursework is Covered?

  • Courses must be offered by an accredited college, university, or technical school
  • Courses must earn degree credits
  • On-line, distance-learning, and traditional classroom courses may be reimbursed
  • Coursework must be related to the business of the company

Some examples of covered disciplines include:

  • Diesel and Small Engine Mechanics
  • Ag Resources and Economics
  • Ag Business
  • Ag Science
  • Agronomy
  • Business Administration and Management
  • And many more!

What Else Qualifies for Reimbursement?

  • 100% of the cost of tuition, books, and reasonable class registration fees for approved courses
  • 100% of mandatory fees
  • 100% of on-campus housing fees and meal plans, or the equivalent to cover off-campus housing and food costs
  • Annual maximum reimbursement paid in any calendar year may not exceed current IRS guidelines

How do I get Reimbursed?

  • Reimbursement begins following receipt of a degree, certificate, or diploma and is dependent on each student’s cumulative GPA
  • Documentation of all expenses to be reimbursed is required
  • Reimbursement is paid bi-weekly while working at MMC full-time
  • All expenses are reimbursed in equal amounts each pay period up to the IRS maximum allowed

How do I Apply?

  • The process starts with a formal application either before or during school, or within a year after graduation. Applications are available by contacting Human Resources Department
  • Interested parties should also contact their preferred MMC location and discuss possible employment, and identify a sponsor at that location
  • Once the application has been processed and approved, a formal agreement is drawn up
